In 2011, Saint-Philippe (Municipalité) had a population of 5,495, representing a percentage change of 7.3% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 62.07 square kilometres with a population density of 88.5 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.
