Preview of Census Products and Services

Major characteristics

Provides a statistical overview of a user-selected geographic area based on a number of detailed variables and/or groups of variables. Release components will be available beginning with the Population and dwelling counts release and built-upon throughout the release cycle.

What's new?

  • The new census profile integrates the data formerly available from the Community Profile, Census tract (CT) profile, Cumulative profile and Release Components, and Federal electoral district (FED) profile.
  • Includes data at the economic region (ER) level of geography.

Geography

Release component available on major days of release, starting with the Population and dwelling count release at the following levels of geography:

  • Canada, provinces and territories
  • Federal electoral districts (FEDs) – 2003 Representation Order
  • Economic regions (ERs)
  • Census metropolitan areas (CMAs)
  • Census agglomerations (CAs)
  • Census divisions (CDs)
  • Census subdivisions (CSDs)
  • Census tracts (CTs)
  • Population centres (POPCTRs)
  • Designated places (DPLs)
  • Dissemination areas (DAs) – (available following the major days of release)
  • Forward sortation areas (FSAs)© – (availability: to be determined)
  • Dissolved census subdivisions (CSDs) – (availability: to be determined).
