Figure 1.1 Population in private households universe variables

Description

Figure 1.1 shows the variables included within the population in private households universe for the 2011 National Household Survey. The variables associated with this universe are: Aboriginal population; activities of daily living; age; citizenship; common-law status; date of birth; ethnic origin; farm operator; first official language spoken; home language; immigration status; knowledge of non-official languages; knowledge of official languages; marital status; mother tongue; place of birth; place of birth of parents; population group (visible minority status); relationship to reference person; sex.

Figure 1.1 also shows the variables associated with several subuniverses that make up the population in private households universe. The subuniverse of population greater than or equal to 1 year of age includes the variable: mobility/migration (1-year interval). The subuniverse of population greater than or equal to 5 years of age includes the variable: mobility/migration (5-year interval). The subuniverse of population greater than or equal to 15 years of age includes the variables: education; income; journey to work; labour force status; language of work.
