Figure 1.8 Private households universe and subuniverses
Description
Figure 1.8 shows the 2011 National Household Survey private households universe and subuniverses and includes a list of variables associated with each. The private households universe is made up of two subuniverses – private households in owner-occupied non-farm dwellings and private households in tenant-occupied non-farm dwellings.
- The private households universe includes the following variables: household maintainer(s); household on reserve; household size; household total income; household type; housing suitability; number of household maintainers; number of persons per room; primary household maintainer; tenure.
- The private households in owner-occupied non-farm dwellings subuniverse includes the following variables: owner's major payments (annual payment for electricity; annual payment for fuels; annual payment for water and other municipal services; annual property taxes; condominium fees; monthly mortgage payment; property taxes included in mortgage payments) and owner's major payments as a percentage of household income.
- The private households in tenant-occupied non-farm dwellings subuniverse includes the following variables: gross rent (annual payment for electricity; annual payment for fuels; annual payment for water and other municipal services; monthly cash rent); gross rent as a percentage of household income; subsidized housing.
