Figure 2.1 Population and Labour force status components, 2011 National Household Survey

Description

Figure 2.1 presents the population aged 15 years and over in private households and the labour force status components in the 2011 National Household Survey.

This figure is divided in multiple parts: labour force and not in the labour force; the experienced labour force and inexperienced labour force; employed and unemployed; last worked in 2011 and last worked in 2010 during the reference including civilian and military; absent from their job or business during the entire reference week including civilian and military; absent from their job or business during the entire reference week including civilian and military.

The unemployed is broken down into the experienced unemployed and the inexperienced unemployed who last worked in 2011 and last worked in 2010; those who were on temporary lay-off, or new job to start in 4 weeks or less, or looked for work. The inexperienced unemployed is divided into last worked before 2010 and never worked which both are in new job to start in 4 weeks or less or looked for work.

The not in the labour force is broken down in 4 components: last worked in 2011, last worked in 2010, last worked before 2010 and never worked.
