Membership in a First Nation or Indian band variable is a direct variable; data are collected from answers reported in Question 21.

The following is a standard 2011 NHS classification used for Membership in a First Nation or Indian band variable:

  • Total - Population by Membership in a First Nation or Indian band
    • Member of a First Nation or Indian band
    • Not a member of a First Nation or Indian band
