Figure 1
Distribution of after-tax income of economic family units for Canada (provinces only), 2005 and 2010

Description for figure 1

Figure 1 presents distributions of after-tax income of economic family units from different data sources for 2005 and 2010. Income distributions for 2005 are based on data from the 2006 Census and the 2005 SLID. Income distributions for 2010 are based on data from the 2011 NHS and the 2010 SLID.

There are five series on this graph. The vertical axis is 'percentage.' The vertical axis starts at 0 and ends at 16 with reference lines every 2 points. The horizontal axis is years and income groups. There are two years: 2005 and 2010, and there are 13 income groups for each year.

Series 1 is the 2006 Census estimate.
Series 2 is the 2011 NHS estimate.
They are both represented as vertical bars but in different colours.
Series 3 is the SLID estimate for both years. It is represented as a dash on the graph.
Series 4 and 5 are, respectively, the lower and upper limits of the 95% confidence interval for the SLID estimate. They are both represented as dots on the graph bracketing the SLID estimate.
